Spring 2011 Season A Big Success!
U14 Girls SC State Challenge Results for Spring 2011

LCSC United 96G White just finished its terrific spring season in the South Carolina State Challenge League this past Sunday.  It won against SCUFC 96 Girls Palmetto with a 2-0 win, finishing out their spring season with an undefeated record!!  Way to play, Lexington United 96 girls!!  All in all, the girls won 7 games, lost none and had one tie against the same team it beat this past Sunday, SCUFC 96G Palmetto.

One of the most challenging games of the season took place on April 9th, as the team had a number of unexpected injuries and started the game against JIYSC 96 Girls Red with only one sub.  Then when competition got rough, our team’s only sub was injured.  Coach Ken’s strong defensive tactics, plus selective rushing offensive tactics ended up enabling the team to pull out of a 2-1 win over James Island, despite us having so few players that day.  The Lexington United parents were thrilled and very complimentary of the girls’ physical and mental toughness against tough odds and also of Coach Ken’s coaching skills.

With such a strong spring season, the team will go on to compete in SC State Challenge Cup pre-round competition later this week with the game date and time still to be determined.  The top teams from pre-round competition will then go on to compete the weekend of May 14 & 15, 2011 in Rock Hill for the title of State Champ in the U14 Girls Challenge division.  So let’s cheer LCSC United 96G White onto to a victory later this week and great playing the following weekend for the State Cup title!!
